2010 Lifeguard Candidates!
Ocean Lifeguard Job Opportunities:
we always welcome qualified applicants. General requirements
are:

Minimum age = 16
-
Good health; must be able to pass USLA fitness
guidelines and MCPS administered lifeguard test
-
No certifications necessary! We provide on
the job training and certifications including USLA Open Water
Certification, CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen, and New Jersey Boating
Safety
-
Must be able to work at least 5 days/week
including weekends. We do not employ weekend or part-time
guards
-
We provide a competitive starting wage, a
comprehensive in-service Lifeguard Training Program, full uniform,
the opportunity to compete in sanctioned lifeguard tournaments,
and an outstanding work environment at Seven Presidents Oceanfront
Park

You can stop at Monmouth County Park System's Thompson
Park, Route 520 (Newman Springs Road) in Lincroft. The
Park entrance is just west of Brookdale Community College and
just east of Christian Brother's Academy. Proceed down
the main entrance and turn left at the first
intersection. The administration building in on the
right. |

You could pick up an application at Seven Presidents
Oceanfront Park at Ocean and Joline Avenues in Long
Branch |

2010 Tryouts and Test
Requirements

General Information |
Testing for the 2010 summer season will be held on dates
listed below. You must attend one of the testing dates
to maintain eligibility. Occasionally there are openings
during the regular summer season. Please check with the
Lifeguard Supervisor at Seven Presidents Oceanfront
Park. Often there are openings on or about August
15th. |

2010 Dates, Times, and
Places |
Jewish Community Center, Grant Avenue, Deal, NJ; Sunday,
May 23rd or Thursday, May 27th; please arrive by 9:30 to allow
time for instructions and changing; |

Swim Test |
500 meter swim for time and place; 10 minutes
maximum |

Pullups |
Maximum for number and place |
|
Pushups |
Maximum for number and place |
|
Dummy Carry |
Approximately 80 lb. dummy carry; sprint down and carry
back in soft sand for time and place |
|
Run |
3/4 mile beach run for time and place. Run includes
hard and soft sand portions |
|
Interview |
Personal interview with Lifeguard Supervisor and Officer
Staff |
